MAS stimulates the study of archaeology and Native American cultural history, especially in Massachusetts, and serves as a bond between students of archaeology. It fosters public under-standing through educational programs and publications, and promotes scientific research; careful, well-directed archaeological activity; conservation of sites, data, and artifacts; and seeks to prevent the collection of specimens for commercial purposes.

The Robbins Museum and the Massachusetts Archaeological Society need your membership support in order to continue the mission of MAS.  MAS members receive the prestigious MAS Bulletin as well as two MAS Newsletters per year and  MAS sponsors two full day archaeological meetings each year.  The Robbins Museum is a place where people can not only view the museum’s extensive collection, but drop in for research and advice.  An example is:  Expert Advice – Artifacts Identified for a Young Visitor
